Aviana Glover is an actor, clown, director, and multimedia artist hailing from Las Vegas, NV. Their neon hometown raised them with a sense of self rooted in transgression, kitsch, and intensity thanks to the city’s inherent extremes, hyper reality, and commitment to instant gratification. In Las Vegas they began professionally performing at age 17 in Circus 1903 at the Paris Hotel and Casino. They have performed in 20 plus shows in Las Vegas, with locally based theater companies like Cockroach Theater, Nevada Conservatory Theatre, A Public Fit, and Majestic Repertory Theatre. They were nominated for a Las Vegas Valley Award for their acting work in 2014, 2016, and 2018. In December of 2017 through January 2018, they traveled to the East Coast to perform as Rosie in Love, Love Love with Kinetic Theater. They have worked with the immersive company Spiegelworld and as a tour guide at The Haunted Museum.
Aviana just graduated with their BFA in Acting from California Institute of the Arts in May 2024. As a clown they have performed multiple times at CalArts, creating their own acts which embody the grotesque, sexual, and hilarious. In their tenure at CalArts, they have directed productions such as Unveiling the Veil, Faust, and Voyeur. They were a part of the creation of live installations Elevator Show, to kiss on a battlefield, Ribs (an opera), morning dove song, and Cum Dumpster along with acting in a number of other productions.
They are a queer creative whose blend of theater, collage, burlesque, and clowning strives to arouse, disgust, and always entertain. Their work attempts to fluidly move from camp to the traumatic, the philosophical to the utterly dumb, nostalgic to the present, while they also (as a performer and person) fluidly identify as far as gender, sexuality, and selfhood go.
